Lukewarmness is chipping away your soul...

A lot of people are not growing spiritually because they are not being taught the actual truth of the scriptures.
A lot of people find churches are coddle them in their sins.
If you are in church and you don’t feel convicted of your sin and way of life then you’re in the wrong place. Or your heart is hardened. Both of which aren’t okay.
You go to church once a week but you’re not internally challenged to dive deeper into your relationship with the Lord.
You’re not motivated to study the Bible more on your own or study for specific themes. You are focused on people, you allow the people in your church community affect your perception of God, your father.
It’s very easy to identify a follower of Christ who doesn’t really read and study the Bible.
Even if you go to church regularly, spending quality time with the Bible is extremely important to grow in relationship with Jesus Christ. This isn’t something to be debated at about at all.
Many people read and quote the Bible to support their personal agendas. They only know scriptures that support their twisted beliefs. Which is basically what the devil tried to do to Jesus Christ when he came to tempt Him.
The Bible is an objective truth - it shows us humanity in its purest forms while also showing us the depth of God’s mercy, grace and demonstration of his eternal Love.
Yes, it takes your feelings and experiences into consideration and yet stands for what it is true, right, fair, just and Holy. All at the same time.
The truth of the Bible doesn’t pick sides between people, it stands for what is true against darkness, sin, rebellion and iniquity.
The Bible challenges us to highest manifestation of personal development and discipline. The Bible is the fairest constitution. The Bible is life.
If you’re not in a place where the objective truth is being taught, then you have to realize that you are not going to grow spiritually until you do work required; which is to begin studying the Bible diligently and methodically.
“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭AMP‬‬
“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭AMP‬
The Word of the Lord is meant to challenge our hearts and transform us from within.
On the other hand, a lot of people are in churches yet they intentionally and consciously refuse to take the teachings seriously. They choose to be personally attacked, offended, indignant instead of spiritually motivated to do better.
This is the definition of rebellion. You know what is right but you choose to do the wrong things. You consciously choose to do things that are sinful, mortally wrong things that potentially and ultimately damage your human relationships and that clearly violate the standard of The Lord and hurt His heart.
Sin is against God. Sin is rebellious living against the almighty God.
The Bible says “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“Lord, we confess our wickedness and that of our ancestors, too. We all have sinned against you.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭14‬:‭20‬ ‭NLT
It is important that we submit ourselves to appropriate biblical discipleship and teachings. No matter how old we may be, we are children of God and therefore we must be taught his ways.
