Will you marry me?

“Will you Marry me?”, he was kneeling on one knee, between his hands he held the velvet red box opened with a sparkling ring gleaming in the moonlight. It was too perfect. It was so hard for Sylvia to imagine that she had found the man of her dreams, in Victor. So many times she had doubted it, considered and then completely cancelled it again. If he was serious about me, he would prove it. She had told herself over the 7 year course of their relationship. “Yes! Yes I will”, she did not know what to do but she pulled him up and looked into his eyes as he slipped the ring on her wedding finger. Her eyes went teary as she moved in for a kiss, he whispered, “Thank you”, He held her tight knowing, he was literally holding the happiness to his future in his hands and he would never let her go.

“Go! Get out! Go to your Paris!”, Victor screamed at the top of his voice as he watched Sylvia. She had just broken the news of her travel to him. “be reasonable. It’s just a year, It’s not forever. I need to go and do this. Please try to understand me”, “understand that you want to leave me now when we  need to be together the most...plan our future, build a family and have a damn marriage already. What are you so scared of? What are you running away from?”, he held up his hands in frustration. She was angry now.
“What if we are not meant to be? What if all this is just a faze? I am scared that you will wake up one morning and realize that I am not the one for you. I don’t wanna be the girl to go through divorce. What if our love is not enough for us. If we get broke half way and then what. Love can’t be tested when all is rosy and well. I want to be sure of this. Sure! Sure!”, he looked lost and hurt.
“You’re not yet sure of us? Of how much I want you in my life permanently? Should I get you a bigger ring? Must I tattoo it to my forehead for you? How about I make an ad in the papers for you? Will that be ENOUGH?tell me!”, “Let me do this my own way. I know how to handle this my own way. Just trust me that whatever happens will be the best for both of us , I promise you.”, she picked up her bag and left him standing there. Dumbfounded and hurt. If he really truly loves me, he would have said or done something...
