Please teach me how to cry - Jane Sinyama Mungabwa 


Please,
Teach me how to cry,
I can’t shed a single tear no matter how much I try,
I am hurt, but I can’t cry. Why?

All these unshed tears, my heart is ever sorrowful, my heart is ever heavy
I am growing weary,
All this pain,
Please teach me how to cry before it drives me insane.

I thought that its strength to hold captive “unnecessary” tears,
But it’s a prison you know, not shedding tears
You are locked inside yourself with no escape,
Scream and scream but nobody hears,
Storms in your soul brew endless and wild but they never clear.

Please teach me how to cry,
So that the rivers of fiends in my soul pour out, dissolve into the air and die.
