Please fund my dream: One year of Film School (BA Hons.)

My name is Comfort Ajibola and my passion is storytelling.

I have always been drawn to the art of telling stories; from writing poems, short stories, blogs, stage theatre plays and starting my own YouTube Channel.
I am compelled to write stories that can impact my audience to impart necessary change.

I believe in my continent; there are so many stories that need to be told.
Who better to tell African stories than Africans? There are many stories of everyday people living
extraordinary lives, and I would love to tell some of them.

For as long as I remember I have been in love with film, media, and all forms of it.
My parents can attest to my days as a toddler sitting in front of the television from dusk to dawn, amazed at the art and creativity arranged on the screen. It was the only thing that captured my attention.

With time, that interest only grew stronger.

As I grew up, writing became a big deal for me.
I was able to construct my own stories.
With film, I can take it a step further by translating my creativity to the real world through arranging my written words into visual representations.

Since completing my degree in English (BA) at the Namibia University of Science and Technology,
I have wanted to further my studies by pursuing my BA Hons in Film Producing and Directing at
The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, AFDA in Cape Town,
South Africa.

The course, which is a Postgraduate Bachelor of Arts Honors in Motion Picture Medium,
is a one year programme.
The entire cost is R89, 005. The total for registration and enrolment for international students is R17 000, whilst the course tuition is R 73, 055.

I applied in 2017 and was unable to go due to lack of funds and therefore deferred my studies.

I am humbly asking for donations of any amount to help me get there and register to begin the school
year in January 2019. Filmmaking is my calling. I want to show the incredible tenacity and relentless spirit of my fellow African people who do their
best each day in the hopes of moving this continent forward.

I am one of them.

I will be eternally grateful for your contribution towards my future as an African Filmmaker and
Creative Director.
