Just because we call ourselves born again doesn't mean we are holy or have achieved some level of "Holiness" or "Spirituality"
It means we are aware of what is wrong, the things that we do wrong and we repent. We wake up the next day, knowing our sins have been washed away by the blood and wake up and do better than yesterday...
Even outside of Christianity, the notion to be aware of your shortcomings, admitting your faults and working to change and do better (repentance) is not strange.
We are not working to earn any kind of favour from God, but you do operate out of conviction meaning you do things by how it is put upon your heart and the direction of the holy spirit ( so that whatever you do is to the glory of God and doesn't work against you [ for your good and his glory] )
This for me makes sense in the area of working a job you hate just because of the money ( even if the money isn't that much ) VERSUS working a job you love and enjoy doing even if you are doing it for free you are still excited every day to get up and do what you love because doing that brings you happiness and you know that your happiness is priceless...
And then BAM! Your salary is extremely high & benefits are more than you imagined.
At the end of the day, we are all sinners. The only difference is some of us are running towards God and repenting as our sins are being revealed to us...
WHILE, the others CHOOSE to NOT admit that they are wrong and continue to look for their way...
At the end of the day, the grace of God is sufficient for all...

I wrote this a couple of weeks ago and posted it on my facebook profile, as a response to what? - I'm not sure anymore...
I just remember the need to defend myself from all those times ,in the past and present, that someone has made a comment about christianity based on what they thought and felt, mostly because in my opinion even if they were christians at some point, they never really understood the part of it that makes most of us want to stay with it.
But this is also just a general fact, you have to admit you are wrong and do better for growth to happen.
That single sentence is the core of growth - something new & better out of something old & not so good.
At least to me.
Today is the 1st if Nov 2018, how much have you grown this year?
